Pitot Tube Installation (1)

1 hour
I cut the hole for the pitot tube.  I started by drilling a big hole with a unibit, then I used my little hand nibbler to get as close to the line as I could.  Finally I finished it with a half round file, and then a scotch brite pad.  It was tedious!!

I did make one change, and that was to move the hole about a 1/4" inboard...  After lining up the pitot tube mounting plate with the stock hole center location, I was pretty sure the nutplates would interfere with the forward rib, and I saw no reason to risk messing with that!  I can't imagine this change will affect anything, so I'm really not sure why they even located it so close to the rib to begin with!
